The Bible

The Bible is our source of learning. It teaches us, corrects us, trains us and equips us 2bgodly.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. ~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Prayer

Prayer is our communication with God. He wants to have a relationship with us. He will talk and listen. Learning to talk to Him and hear His will is part of learning 2bgodly.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” ~ 1 John 5:14

Loving People

Learning how to do life together. Only below loving God is “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. Throughout the whole Bible we are taught to love God and love others. Part of learning to love others in this way is becoming 2bgodly.

"'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." ~ Matthew 22:37-40

Knowing Ourselves

Letting God meet us where we are so we can grow. When we let Him meet us where we truly are, then we have a chance to name what is happening and do something with it. Allowing God in to show us our true thoughts and our heart condition is a large part of 2bgodly. He wants us to name where we are, so He can lead us to where He wants us to be.

Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! ~ Psalm 139:23-24

Endurance

Learning to keep going even when life is hard. It is hard to find it joy when life is hard, but where are we finding our joy? JOY = Jesus, others, and you. When we focus on Jesus and what He is doing in our lives, we can find joy, but when we are focused on us first it is harder to find joy. The reason we can find joy, outside of staying focused on Jesus, is seeing that He is working in us to produce in us endurance. Letting tests come into our life to help us grow is living a 2bgodly life.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. ~ James 1:2-3

Living Out Obedience

Being who God wants us to be and living that way. When we keep His ways, we show Him we love Him because we are obeying Him. God is not out to ruin our lives, but to lead us into the best lives we can have. Being obedient can help us walk into better lives and live 2bgodly.

Love the LORD your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always. ~ Deuteronomy 11:1
